Architectural photography is a fascinating and challenging area of study. I use the word study because each building or interior is unique and must be approached with a new vision. We will be covering the camera format used as well as placement of objects in the image. We will also get into the color balance of lights and the right kind of film and filters to use.
In the following lessons you will learn how to master these complicated details with success. Each lesson will display an image and give you detailed instructions on how to reproduce it.
Consideration for the placement of magazine copy should also be considered. These are some of the advanced lessons, but you will first need to have the basics down. Camera Basics.
You will also need a good lighting system to duplicate these images. Most of the images were shot with at least 2000 watts of power. See "Lighting Lessons." Small portable flash units can be used for this as I will describe.
Detailed diagrams describe how each light was placed to light the scene in addition to camera and reflector positions.
Don't forget with each lesson the
button allows you to get help. This feature alone is worth 10 times the value you are paying for the lessons.
