Define fine art photography~
It is like any art ~ subjective. It may be a beautiful landscape, or some very abstract and conceptual idea created in the darkroom. In each of these situations, it must be technically excellent.

Once you know the rules in any medium, whether it is painting, photography or any art form, you are then able to break those rules and push your art to a new and interesting place. Considering there are so many variables in the field of photography, conceptualizing and creating new styles of art work simply requires imagination. Successfully bending and breaking the rules can create the most interesting and unusual art work.

Many commercial photographers start out as fine artists and then finances have dictated that they change to commercial work. Doing both commercial and fine art seems to be a perfect blend for the industrious person who also needs to express a creative inner vision.

The lessons in this section will discuss how to approach a gallery, how to market your work, how to show your work, and how to archivally matte your images. The creativity I will leave up to your imagination.

The retouching section of this web site has some fine art techniques that may interest you.

Don't forget with each lesson the
